Long-Term Care Requirements added to State Education Regulations

In the past couple weeks there have been a few states that have amended their continuing education laws to include the most recent version of the NAIC Long-Term Care Model Act. The Florida, Montana and Pennsylvania Insurance Departments are the most recent to conform with this NAIC law. The model act includes a new section on producer training, which requires producers to complete a one-time, eight-hour training course before selling long-term care insurance products and an ongoing, four-hour training requirement from that point on. The training will cover long-term care insurance, as well as information about Partnership programs and their relationship to the Medicaid program.

LearnInsurance.com now has Long-Term Care continuing education courses so go to www.learninsurance.com to see if they are available in your state.
